The Wayside Wildcat Cross Country team started their season at the St. Viator Invitational meet on Saturday August 18th. It was an extremely strong field with some of the best runners in the state competing. The Wayside kids did great on what was a fantastic day for running. The JV girls finished 2nd with a overall second place finish from Caroline Schermerhorn. Moira Jackman had a strong debut in her first run and finished 17th. Grace Trunnell managed to overcome a nasty fall and finished 18th! The Boys Junior Varsity finished 3rd with Reid Kacyznski (7th) and Joey Salitino (16th) leading the pack. Girls and Boys varsity finished 5th and 4th respectively with Micheala Jackman (14th) and Katie Fitzpatrick (23rd) setting the pace. The boys were led by Danny Quick (14th) and Phil Martire (20th) legging out strong finishes. Congratulations to our many Wayside runners who did a great job representing the Wildcats in Lion country.
